29-6-2023 (TAIPEI) Taiwanese Singer Ella made a shocking revelation during a beauty endorsement event, opening up about her own experience as a victim in the recent MeToo movement. She disclosed that she had been violated during her elementary school years, recalling the traumatic incident by saying, “I crawled out of the room, crying.”
It was only years later, during a family meal, that she shared this information with her relatives and discovered that her two older sisters had also been victimized by the same person. Despite the lasting impact, Ella expressed that her life would not be defined by these experiences.
Recalling the distressing incident, Ella shared, “The son of my father’s friend, an older brother figure, had us sit on his lap to watch something on the computer. Suddenly, he reached into my underwear until I felt something was wrong. I screamed, crawled away, and cried.”
Reflecting on the blurred boundaries between harassment and sexual assault, she admitted uncertainty about the exact definition but confirmed that the touching had gone beyond appropriate boundaries. Ella further revealed, “My older sisters were touched on their chests. It was only when I was five months pregnant that we finally discussed these incidents during an outing.”
