3-12-2025 (KUALA LUMPUR) Malaysia will relaunch the underwater hunt for long-lost Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 on December 30, marking a renewed push to solve one of aviation’s enduring enigmas. The transport ministry revealed plans Tuesday for Ocean Infinity, a Texas-based firm, to scan targeted seabed zones in the southern Indian Ocean over 55 intermittent days.
This follows the April suspension of a prior effort due to harsh weather, with officials emphasizing high-probability sites based on prior data analysis. The Boeing 777 vanished on March 8, 2014, during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people aboard, veering off course in what remains an unexplained deviation that baffled global investigators.
The decision reflects Malaysia’s ongoing pledge to families, many of whom have endured a decade of uncertainty since debris fragments surfaced in 2015. “This latest development underscores the government of Malaysia’s commitment to providing closure to the families affected by this tragedy,” a ministry statement read. No fresh evidence prompted the move, but advocates hail it as a vital step amid stalled international probes.
