17-7-2024 (BANGKOK) In a shocking incident that has sparked outrage and panic among the student community, a man surrendered to authorities after photos of him indecently exposing himself while cooking noodles near a renowned university went viral on social media.
According to reports from the Metropolitan Police, on the evening of July 12th, a 22-year-old female student at a prestigious university in the Bang Khen district witnessed a disturbing sight. A man, estimated to be around 40 years old, was spotted riding a blue motorcycle with the license plate “1 Kor Kor 7594 Pathum Thani.” He parked his vehicle and brazenly unzipped his pants, exposing his genitals to the unsuspecting young woman, leaving her in a state of shock and distress.
The brazen act did not end there. Witnesses reported that the man proceeded to cook noodles in public while continuing to display his genitals, causing widespread panic and outrage among the university community. Disturbing photographs of the incident soon surfaced on social media platforms, prompting a wave of condemnation and calls for immediate action.
In the wake of the viral incident, Superintendent Anan Worasart of the Bang Khen Police Station revealed that on July 16th, a 32-year-old man identified only as Mr. Somlak surrendered to authorities. In a startling confession, Somlak admitted to being the individual depicted in the viral photographs.
According to Somlak’s statement, he had been riding his motorcycle from the Pak Kret intersection to the vicinity of the university on the day of the incident. Donning a white half-face helmet and a green raincoat, he parked his vehicle and proceeded to unzip his pants, exposing himself while boiling noodles in full view of passersby, including female students.
Somlak claimed that he was unaware if anyone had recorded his actions until the authorities arrived at his residence, prompting him to turn himself in to the police.
