The incident, which occurred at the void deck of a Housing and Development Board (HDB) block along Clementi Avenue 4, has left the local community in shock.
Authorities were alerted to the distressing scene at approximately 5pm, prompting a swift response from both the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Upon arrival, emergency responders found an unconscious man at the void deck of Block 311B, part of the Trivelis DBSS development.
Despite immediate medical attention, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation performed at the scene, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. In a statement, police confirmed that a 50-year-old man was detained at the location and subsequently arrested in connection with the case.

She described seeing a man chasing a woman dressed in red into a nearby car park, while another individual lay injured at the void deck.
As the situation unfolded, police cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough investigation, combing through nearby grass patches and searching a black car at the exit of the multi-storey car park. The meticulous process continued well into the evening, with evidence being carefully documented and collected.
The gravity of the situation was underscored by the presence of local Member of Parliament Sim Ann, who was observed consoling a distraught individual at the scene. In a statement posted on social media, Sim expressed deep shock and sadness over the “horrific occurrence” and relayed the family’s request for privacy during this difficult time.
