7-12-2024 (BANGKOK) A Chinese tourist and his Thai companion were arrested following a public display of intimacy that caused outrage among beachgoers at Jomtien Beach in Pattaya.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 11:06 pm, led to the arrest of a Chinese national in his fifties and a 53-year-old Thai woman after multiple complaints from shocked onlookers.
Witnesses reported observing the couple engaging in sexual intercourse both on the beach and in the water, displaying a complete disregard for public decency. Despite numerous attempts by passersby to intervene, the pair continued their activities for over 30 minutes, prompting concerned tourists to alert local authorities.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found themselves in the extraordinary position of having to repeatedly request the couple cease their activities. The Thai woman reportedly attempted to evade detection by pretending to swim, whilst her companion remained defiant.
Local sources revealed that the couple had been spotted earlier that evening at a nearby establishment consuming alcoholic beverages before making their way to the beach. Despite vocal protests from onlookers and initial warnings from law enforcement, the pair showed little concern for their surroundings.
Both individuals were subsequently escorted to Pattaya City Police Station, where they face charges of performing indecent acts in public. The couple reportedly challenged officers, questioning the basis of their arrest.
