5-7-2024 (BEIJING) The couple, whose romance blossomed across borders, exchanged vows in August 2023, but it was the bride’s candid revelation about her motivation for the marriage that sparked a wave of amusement and admiration online.
In a delightfully honest confession, the Laotian bride admitted that one of the driving forces behind her decision to marry was her husband’s possession of an air conditioner – a luxury she had long craved to escape the oppressive heat of her homeland.
“Where I came from, it’s so hot. I didn’t have an air-conditioning, and I’ve always wanted one,” she explained with disarming sincerity.
When her husband, a popular vlogger on YouTube with the handle @林老师的旅行 (Teacher Lin’s Travels), playfully inquired if the air conditioner was the sole reason for their marriage, the bride’s response was equally endearing.
“Of course, I love you, but having an air-cond is a bonus,” she quipped, her words laced with warmth and humor.
The couple’s nuptials were a modest affair, held at the bride’s family home in Laos, with the total expenses amounting to a modest RMB 13,000 (approximately S$ 2,415). This sum covered the village chief’s wedding certificate processing, the purchase of pigs for the celebration, and gifts valued at less than RMB 10,000 (approximately S$1,857).
Since their marriage, the internet celebrity has been generously sharing glimpses of their life together through vlogs on his YouTube channel.
