30-4-2024 (SINGAPORE) In response to recent cost evaluations, Ninja Van has decided to reduce its tech team by “less than 10 per cent”, stated a spokesperson.
The spokesperson highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable growth through cost optimisation measures.
The company’s tech department has been actively engaged in implementing cost-control measures, which include infrastructural reorganisation and outsourcing, aligning with the group’s direction.
Ninja Van did not disclose specific numbers regarding the impact of the layoffs in Singapore and the wider region. However, affected employees have been provided with a severance package.
The package includes one month of severance pay per full year of employment, along with job placement support.
Affected workers will retain access to company resources, including chat and office facilities, until the end of the week. Additionally, they will be on garden leave until May 31, their official last day.
The company has extended the deadline for exercising vested options from 30 days to a year. Furthermore, medical insurance and mental health support have been extended until Jun 30 to assist affected employees during the transition period.
