12-9-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) After nearly two weeks of fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following a stroke, news anchor Raymond Goh has sadly passed away this morning.
The heartbreaking news was announced by his wife, Faridah Teh, in a statement to the media.
Faridah expressed her gratitude to the public for their love and unwavering support during this challenging period.
“With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Raymond Goh, also known as Muhammad Zaman Goh Abdullah, who touched the lives of thousands in this country.
“Raymond peacefully passed away this morning after battling the effects of a stroke.
“The Goh family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to friends and supporters for their overflowing love and support during this trying time,” she said.
According to Faridah, the late Raymond will be laid to rest after the Asar prayer at the Bukit Kiara Islamic Cemetery here.
“The funeral prayer will be held at Masjid At-Taqwa, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, here, after the Asar prayer,” she added.
Earlier, the TV3 news anchor was reported to be in critical condition after suffering a stroke and was admitted to a hospital in Petaling Jaya on August 30th.
Goh began his career as a news anchor on the 7 O’clock News and later transitioned to Nightline on TV3.
He dedicated more than 30 years to the broadcasting industry and also served as a speech coach.
