9-7-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) A mother’s gift for her child’s teacher on the last day of school has gone viral on social media, as it was not just any ordinary present but a RM 32,490 (S$ 9300) designer necklace. The mother, Fara, prepared the gift to show her gratitude to the teacher for guiding and nurturing her child. A video of her son Ali, carrying the gift and giving it to the teacher along with a bouquet of flowers, has garnered over a million views on social media in less than a day.
In the 34-second video, Ali is seen getting out of the car with the gift in his hand, hugging his classmates goodbye, and then presenting the bouquet and the designer necklace to his teacher. Fara wrote in the video caption, “As the first teacher in my child’s life, you have taught and nurtured him with great care, and your influence will be forever engraved in his heart.”
While many netizens were amazed by the extravagant present and expressed their desire to switch careers and become international school teachers, others pointed out that the knowledge imparted by teachers to their students is priceless and cannot be measured in monetary terms.
