24-9-2024 (JAKARTA) A harrowing robbery in Pamijahan, Bogor Regency, West Java, has left a community in shock after a family fell victim to a brutal attack, resulting in the death of the household’s patriarch. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, 18th September 2024, has led to the arrest of four suspects, with authorities uncovering a motive rooted in financial desperation.
The victim, identified only by the initials HS (26), succumbed to injuries sustained during the assault, while his wife, child, and mother were left wounded. In the wake of this tragedy, law enforcement has moved swiftly, apprehending four individuals now facing severe charges.
Deputy Chief of Bogor Police, Commissioner Adhimas Sriyono Putra, confirmed that the suspects, known as ID, S, C, and O, have been formally charged. The gravity of their alleged crimes is reflected in the potential penalties they face, including the possibility of capital punishment for robbery resulting in death.
“The suspects are confronting a range of serious charges,” stated Commissioner Putra. “These include Article 340 of the Criminal Code, which carries the threat of death or life imprisonment, as well as Article 338, with a potential 15-year sentence.” He added that additional charges under Articles 365 and 170 could see the perpetrators facing up to 15 and 12 years imprisonment, respectively.
In a disturbing twist, the investigation revealed that the mastermind behind the robbery was an acquaintance of the deceased. The suspect, identified only as D, had previously pawned his car to HS for 23 million rupiah (approximately £1,200). Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bogor Police, AKP Teguh Kumara, explained the motive: “The victim’s persistent demands for repayment, coupled with D’s inability to settle the debt, led to the conception of this heinous plan.”
