9-7-2023 (CALIFORNIA) Jack Sweeney, the individual behind the popular real-time tracking account for Elon Musk’s private jet, has made a transition to Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter alternative, Threads, after facing suspension from Twitter last year.
On Thursday, Sweeney made his debut on Threads with a post that exclaimed, “ElonJet has arrived to Threads!” Sweeney’s account, @elonmusksjet, had amassed over 21,000 followers by Saturday morning. Through ElonJet, Sweeney has been diligently monitoring and reporting the movements of Musk’s private jet using publicly available data.
In December of the previous year, ElonJet faced suspension from Twitter Inc., a platform owned by Musk himself. The billionaire had expressed his discontent and even threatened legal action against Sweeney, alleging that his son had been mistakenly followed by an individual he referred to as a “crazy stalker.”
Threads, now under the Meta umbrella, has emerged as a direct challenger to Twitter. In a matter of hours, the platform managed to attract millions of users, including high-profile personalities like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Democratic U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Threads aims to capitalize on the weakened state of its rival following a series of tumultuous decisions made by Musk.
