228-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles is set to embark on a significant diplomatic journey this week as he visits Malaysia and the Philippines. The aim of the visit is to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation in the realm of defence and security.
During his visit to Kuala Lumpur, Marles has a scheduled engagement as he co-chairs the 3rd High-Level Committee meeting with his Malaysian counterpart, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan. This meeting holds great importance in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between the two nations. Additionally, Marles will have the opportunity to meet Australian Defence Force personnel at the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base in Butterworth, Penang, further solidifying the bond between the armed forces of both countries.
