22-6-2023 (BEIJING) Public security authorities have taken control of nine individuals, including the owner, shareholders, and staff of a barbecue restaurant following a fatal explosion in northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous RegionĀ on Wednesday. Assets of the nine people have been frozen, according to relevant departments of the regional government.
The explosion occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. on a busy street inĀ Xingqing District, the regional capital of Yinchuan. The incident resulted from a leakage ofĀ liquefied petroleum gasĀ from the restaurant, which led to a massive explosion that caused 38 casualties. Despite rescue efforts, 31 people have been confirmed dead, while seven individuals are currently receiving medical treatment.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, and verification of the identities of the deceased is underway. The severity of the incident has prompted the intervention of public security authorities, who have taken control of the individuals associated with the restaurant.
