1-11-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) The Johor State Chief of Police, Dato’ Kamarul Zaman, has revealed that the recent fatal stabbing case outside a nightclub, which claimed the life of a young man, is believed to have been motivated by jealousy and envy (“Cemburu”) stemming from a romantic dispute. The female suspect has now been designated as a key witness in the case.
Dato’ Kamarul Zaman stated that in connection with the fatal stabbing case, the police arrested two male suspects, aged 26 and 29, both of Singaporean nationality, as well as a 33-year-old local woman.
According to the investigation, the tragic incident is believed to have been triggered by feelings of jealousy and envy. Dato’ Kamarul Zaman made this revelation during a press conference following his attendance at the handover ceremony for the Chief of the Johor State Criminal Investigations Division.

He explained that the primary male suspect was charged with murder yesterday and, if found guilty, could face the death penalty.
Regarding the female suspect, who had been granted police bail, he confirmed that she would now serve as a key witness in the case.
The fatal stabbing occurred in the early hours of last Friday (27th) at approximately 3:41 am, outside a nightclub unit in Taman Setia Indah 3, Johor Bahru. The 26-year-old male victim, Xie Zhiyu, was involved in a dispute with several individuals and suffered multiple stab wounds. The wounds were located on his right chest, left abdomen, lower left ribcage, left shoulder, right upper back, left upper back, left thumb, left index finger, and left cheek.
