13-1-2025 (JAKARTA) Police have arrested a young couple for the murder of their three-and-a-half-year-old child in South Tambun, Bekasi.
Aidil Zacky Rahman, 19, known locally as Zack or Kidoy, and his wife Sinta Dewi, 22, were apprehended while attempting to flee to Java on Wednesday evening. The couple, who worked as beggars outside a local minimarket, allegedly beat their child to death following a confrontation with shop staff.
Greater Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Commissioner Wira Satya Triputra, detailed the horrific assault during a press conference at the Jakarta Police Headquarters on Monday. According to his statement, the father struck the child’s chest once, kicked the child’s chest and face, slammed the child against a rolling door, and delivered two slaps to the face. The mother reportedly participated in the assault by slapping the child’s mouth twice, striking the child’s cheek once, and pinching the child’s thigh three times.
The tragic incident was reportedly triggered when shop staff confronted the couple after their child vomited on the minimarket’s terrace – the same location where the couple regularly begged for money. “The suspects committed this criminal act out of anger and frustration towards the victim following this incident,” Triputra explained.
The child’s body was discovered on Monday, January 6th, wrapped in a sarong. Medical examination revealed extensive bruising and cigarette burn marks on the victim’s body, indicating a pattern of abuse.
