9-6-2024 (JAKARTA) A missing woman was tragically found inside the belly of a giant python after being eaten alive by the deadly serpent. The gruesome discovery unfolded in Sulawesi, where Farida, a 50-year-old mother of four, disappeared two days ago while on her way to a local market near her home.
Farida’s husband, Noni, 55, raised the alarm when she failed to return home, prompting a search party comprised of concerned locals. After scouring the surrounding areas, they stumbled upon a mammoth 20-foot-long python with a large bulge in its stomach, raising fears of the unthinkable.
In a shocking turn of events, captured on video, the devastated husband and other villagers made the grim decision to slice open the python’s thick skin with a machete. To their horror, Farida’s remains were found inside the snake’s stomach, covered in slime.
Investigations revealed that the python had plunged its teeth into Farida’s leg, coiled around her body, and suffocated her before swallowing her whole. The tragic discovery has left Noni consumed by guilt and remorse. “I am forever sorry that I let my wife go out alone. If I had been with her that day, the snake would not have dared to touch her. I feel sorry for the suffering she went through. I am sorry for our family,” he lamented.
Suardi Rosi, the Head of the village of Kalempang where Farida and her family lived, expressed his condolences and acknowledged the gravity of the situation. “This has not happened before in our village. We have warned everybody to be careful when they walk through the woods. Women should be accompanied by someone,” he said.
Farida’s remains were removed from the snake’s belly and taken away for a religious burial, marking a tragic end to a life cut short by the unforgiving forces of nature.
Indonesia is home to a large population of wild pythons that thrive in the country’s vast and dense jungles. Unlike neighboring countries in Southeast Asia, where modern infrastructure has forced such reptiles to stay out of city limits, snakes in Indonesia roam freely in villages, posing a constant threat to unsuspecting residents.
Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. In 2022, a grandmother named Jahrah, 54, disappeared while collecting rubber in the forest near her family home in Jambi, Indonesia. Search parties later found her remains trapped inside the swollen stomach of a 22-foot-long python. Similarly, in March 2017, Akbar Salubiro was cut from the stomach of a python after being eaten alive on the island of West Sulawesi.
