27-5-2023 (Bangkok) Samut Prakan province, Mr. Kanthasawat Pongpaibulvech, also known as Kan Jompholung, accompanied a 25-year-old woman of mixed heritage to file a report with Pol. Lt. Col. Supakorn Buranapakit of Bang Bo Police Station. The report accused her 24-year-old boyfriend of physical assault, animal cruelty, and unlawful confinement.
Kan Jompholung stated that he had coordinated with the police to assist the 24-year-old English-Thai woman, who had been subjected to heinous acts of violence by her boyfriend. The abuse included kicking, punching, beating with a wooden chair, and hitting her with a fan, resulting in a broken brow, fractured eye socket, torn arm, and dislocated shoulder. Furthermore, during each argument, the boyfriend would force the woman to consume excrement and urine from their dogs. Disturbingly, after she finished, he would strangle the dogs to death and discard them. This pattern of abuse and killings has been repeated with six dogs so far.
The reason the woman endured such torment was due to her boyfriend’s claims that he witnessed his father beating his mother during his childhood, which allegedly left him emotionally scarred. As the woman’s own parents reside abroad, he used this as a justification for his lack of empathy and compassion. Despite her resilience, the woman finally reached her breaking point and managed to escape, seeking help from Kan Jompholung to report the incident and ensure her safety. She feared further violence and hoped that legal action would be taken against her abuser.
