15-3-2024 (BANGKOK) Concerns have been raised by locals in Pattaya as a viral video depicting a foreign couple engaging in a public sexual act near the entrance of the Terminal 21 shopping mall has surfaced. The incident, captured in a 25-second video shared on Facebook by user Denis Krungtep on March 13, has prompted calls for a police investigation.
The video, recorded from the opposite side of the shopping mall, showcases the couple involved in the sexual activity on the steps, with an escalator and the entrance to Terminal 21 visible in the background. It is believed that the incident occurred late at night when the mall was closed, as the entrance and its sign were devoid of light, and no vehicles passed by during the recording.
The voice heard in the video belongs to a Thai man, not Denis Krungtep, who is a foreigner. It appears that Krungtep may have come across the video on another platform and subsequently shared it with other social media users. In the video, the Thai man expressing his shock exclaims, “Oho, this is too much. Let’s go back to the hotel! Is this for real? What the f*ck.”
Channel 7, a local news outlet, reported that their reporters spoke to locals, mall staff, and motorcycle taxi riders in the vicinity of the incident, and none of them had witnessed the video or heard about the incident prior to its circulation.
While the exact time of the incident remains unclear, Channel 7 stated that locals found the behavior disrespectful and demanded an immediate investigation by the relevant authorities.
This incident follows a similar occurrence in Phuket in February, where a Thai witness exposed the inappropriate actions of a foreign couple by sharing a sex video on social media.
Residents in the area also disclosed to the media that this was not the first instance of a couple engaging in explicit acts in the province.
