23-7-2023 (TOKYO) A violent attack occurred on a JR train bound for Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan on Sunday (23rd). A man was arrested after stabbing three male passengers on board the train.
Reports state that the fire department received a call from a station employee at Rinku Town Station in Izumisano City at around 10:30 am. The caller reported that several people on the train had been stabbed in the face. The victims included a male conductor in his 20s, a male passenger in his 20s, and a male passenger in his 70s. Fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.
Photos circulated online showed the attacker standing on the platform after the attack, with his mask pulled down below his nose and a weapon still in his right hand. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and authorities are currently investigating his motives for the attack.
Eyewitnesses reported chaos and panic on the train as passengers tried to escape the violent attacker. Many expressed shock and disbelief that such an incident could occur on a seemingly ordinary train journey.
