27-3-2024 (HANOI) Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast announced on Wednesday its signing of partnership agreements with 15 dealers in Thailand, marking its latest endeavour to broaden its presence in Southeast Asia.
These agreements were formalised during the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show.
According to the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), car sales in Thailand have continued to experience a decline, particularly in the pickup segment, witnessing a 26% year-on-year decrease in February, expected to mark the lowest level in two years.
Moreover, car production in the country saw a 19.3% drop last month compared to the previous year, with the production of pickup trucks notably affected and an increase in the importation of EVs contributing to the decline.
