11-10-2023 (HANOI) According to recent data provided by British technology advisory firm Access Partnership, Vietnam’s e-commerce export revenues are projected to reach $5.5 billion by the year 2027, marking an annual growth rate of 7 percent. This ambitious target can be attained if micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) accelerate their adoption of e-commerce platforms for exporting products and services.
In recent years, Vietnam has experienced a surge in e-commerce exports, with a particular focus on the promising growth of the MSME sector. Many market analysts have even suggested that Vietnam’s e-commerce export revenue will surpass $10 billion within the next four years. Deputy Director of the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency, Lai Viet Anh, emphasized the positive outlook for the country’s e-commerce export industry.
The trend of Vietnamese exports via e-commerce platforms has been particularly noticeable. Products such as household appliances, garments, textiles, healthcare items, and convenience goods, originating from Vietnamese brands, have found favor among international online shoppers. Amazon Global Selling’s data corroborated this growing trend.
Experts predict that e-commerce will continue to open up lucrative export opportunities for a wider range of Vietnamese products, particularly those aligned with the country’s strengths. They have advised exporters to explore diverse promotional programs such as special discounts and offering free shipping for high-value orders. Additionally, the experts recommend evolving products to better align with the preferences of consumers in international markets.
Vietnam’s retail e-commerce sector, as per data from the country’s E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency, has demonstrated a remarkable annual growth rate of over 20 percent.
