18-12-2024 (JAKARTA) Vietnam’s premier all-electric ride-hailing service Xanh SM has officially launched operations in Jakarta, marking its first expansion into Indonesia’s bustling mobility market. The grand inauguration ceremony, held in Jakarta, drew distinguished attendance from high-ranking officials and diplomatic representatives from across the region.
The launch ceremony saw the presence of key dignitaries including Dr. Riyatno, Indonesian Deputy of Investment Climate Development, Mr. Ta Van Thong, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Indonesia, and Mr. Denny Abdi, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Vietnam, alongside representatives from various diplomatic missions and strategic partners.
Xanh SM’s Indonesian debut comes strategically timed to meet the anticipated surge in transportation demands during the 2025 New Year period. The company brings its signature “5 Green Promises” to the Indonesian market, encompassing excellence in customer experience, professional driving standards, vehicle quality, competitive pricing, and environmental stewardship.
The service will operate an exclusive fleet of VinFast Limogreen electric vehicles, offering Jakarta residents their first taste of completely emission-free, silent, and odourless taxi services. To mark its entry, Xanh SM is extending a 30% discount promotion, capped at IDR 50,000 for two daily rides, valid through 22 December 2024.
Global CEO of GSM, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, expressed optimism about the expansion, stating, “Indonesia’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2060 perfectly aligns with our mission to spearhead global transport electrification.”
Dr. Riyatno highlighted the launch’s significance for Indonesia’s green initiatives, noting, “Services like this are crucial for our transition to clean energy and achieving our sustainable development goals.”
The expansion follows Xanh SM’s remarkable success in Vietnam, where it has established itself as a leading green mobility provider since its April 2023 launch. The company’s entry into Indonesia represents a significant milestone in its “Go Green Global” strategy, positioning it as a pivotal player in Southeast Asia’s sustainable transportation landscape.
Jakarta residents can now access Xanh SM’s services through their mobile application, available on both iOS and Android platforms, or by traditional street hailing of the distinctive green-lit taxis.
