6-7-2024 (HANOI) Vietnam’s economic trajectory is showing signs of significant acceleration, with the potential to meet or surpass the government’s ambitious 6.5% growth target for the year, according to Planning and Investment Minister Nguyen Chi Dung. The minister’s optimistic forecast, delivered during a recent cabinet meeting chaired by the prime minister, suggests that the Southeast Asian nation’s economy could even achieve a remarkable 7% expansion in 2024.
Speaking at the Saturday morning gathering, Minister Dung highlighted the pivotal roles of the industrial and construction sectors in driving this impressive growth. His comments, later published on the government’s official website, paint a picture of an economy gaining momentum and strength across key areas.
“If growth momentums continue to be maintained and accelerate, the growth rate in 2024 is likely to reach or even exceed the target set by the National Assembly,” Dung stated, underscoring the positive outlook for Vietnam’s economic performance.
