29-8-2023 (HANOI) Leaders from Vietnam and Singapore have expressed their willingness to explore the potential of elevating their bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the future. The agreement was reached during a productive three-day visit by Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, which concluded on Tuesday. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Singaporean counterpart engaged in fruitful discussions, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation in various key sectors, as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.
Both prime ministers underscored the significance of enhancing collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, education and training, finance and banking, and tourism. They recognized the need for the effective implementation of the digital economy-green economy partnership, which was established in 2023, as well as the revised Vietnam-Singapore economic connectivity agreement.
Following their talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of several new agreements.
