23-12-2023 (HANOI) Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier of Vietnam, has issued a cautionary warning to its passengers regarding a surge in online fraud activities where scammers impersonate partners of the airline. These deceptive individuals lure customers by offering gifts or commissions in exchange for completing tasks.
The fraudulent activities unfold on popular platforms like Zalo, Viber, and Facebook, where scammers exploit the trust passengers place in Vietnam Airlines. To execute their schemes, these scammers create groups and engage with customers while posing as official partners of the airline. Their ploy involves encouraging passengers to increase interactions on these platforms.
Under the guise of completing tasks and earning rewards, these fraudsters may request personal information, bank account details, and one-time password (OTP) codes. Vietnam Airlines, in response to these fraudulent activities, has emphasized that it does not organize or coordinate any programs involving the payment of commissions to individuals for boosting the airline’s online interactions.
In order to shield passengers from falling victim to such scams, Vietnam Airlines has offered practical advice. It urges passengers to conduct thorough research into contests and events before participating. Furthermore, passengers are strongly advised never to disclose personal information, bank account details, or OTP codes to others.
Vietnam Airlines underscores the importance of participating only in contests and programs that are officially organized and announced through the airline’s official channels. Verified platforms, such as Vietnam Airlines’ official website (https://www.vietnamairlines.com) and social media accounts with authenticated ticks, including Vietnam Airlines’ Facebook and TikTok accounts, are deemed trustworthy sources for official announcements and promotions.
