16-8-2023 (PYONGYANG) – The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) issued a statement on Wednesday revealing that Travis King, the U.S. soldier who crossed the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and entered the country last month, has confessed to “illegally intruding” into North Korean territory. According to the state agency KCNA, King cited the presence of “inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. Army” as the driving force behind his actions.
The DPRK’s report further divulged that King has communicated his willingness to pursue refuge within North Korea or in a third country.
