11-9-2023 (HANOI) In a remarkable and astonishing event, a cow in northern Vietnam has left villagers baffled as it gave birth to an extraordinary calf with eight legs, three eyes, and two tongues. The unusual occurrence transpired on the afternoon of August 1, and the subsequent health complications of the cow added to the astonishment, culminating in the calf’s birth on the morning of August 2.
Residents of the Điền Quang community, situated in Bá Thước district, Thanh Hóa province, have been recounting the harrowing ordeal that the cow endured during the birthing process. They explain that the situation became so dire that human intervention was necessary to ensure a safe delivery for both the cow and the unique calf.
One local resident named Hai, who witnessed the event, shared insights into the extraordinary circumstances. “Consequently, we had to assist the cow with the birth. Despite our extensive experience and training, this was a particularly challenging task due to the calf’s multiple limbs.” This cow had previously undergone four calving events, all of which proceeded without complications. However, the most recent pregnancy, while seemingly normal in terms of the cow’s health, featured an unusually extended gestation period.
