21-5-2023 (Washington) The White House announced on Sunday that the United States will provide Ukraine with $375 million in military aid as part of a new aid package. The funds will be allocated towards supplying ammunition and equipment to the Ukrainian military, as well as facilitating the training of Ukrainian servicemen.
This announcement comes in the wake of a meeting between President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Japan, where the two leaders engaged in discussions regarding the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine and emphasized the importance of sustained support from the international community.
Since the commencement of the conflict in 2014, the United States has been a staunch advocate for Ukraine in its struggle against Russian-backed separatists in the Donbas region. To date, the US has already delivered over $35 billion in military aid to Ukraine since February 2014, with an additional $36.9 billion provided during President Biden’s tenure in office.
According to Reuters, the new aid package is expected to encompass ammunition, artillery, and armored vehicles. This assistance will serve to enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities and fortify its ability to counter Russian aggression.
