6-2-2025 (JAKARTA) A grim discovery marred the pristine shores of Long Pink Beach in Indonesia’s famed Komodo National Park on Thursday morning, as local authorities confirmed the recovery of an unidentified female body from its waters.
The partially clothed remains were found floating near the shoreline of the popular tourist destination in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara province. According to emergency responders, the deceased was wearing only a maroon brassiere, with significant decomposition making immediate identification challenging.
Witnesses at the scene reported the body appeared to be in an advanced state of deterioration, with visible skin degradation and no hair present. The facial features were notably compromised, further complicating identification efforts.
“Search and rescue teams are returning to the scene,” confirmed Arif Rahmadan, an official from the Labuan Bajo Search and Rescue Post, who is coordinating the recovery operation. The statement suggests authorities are treating the location as a potential crime scene, though no official determination has been made.
