30-5-2024 (SINGAPORE) On May 28, 2024, a dramatic altercation between a 38-year-old motorcyclist and a 62-year-old man wielding a weapon was caught on camera near Block 54 Havelock Road. The video of the incident was shared on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page, where it quickly gained attention.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that the 62-year-old man attacked the motorcyclist with a screwdriver. Both men were subsequently arrested for affray, with the older man also facing charges for voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon.
In the video, the 62-year-old man, dressed in a white shirt, is seen running across the road towards the motorcyclist, who is wearing a helmet. Armed with a screwdriver in his right hand, the older man lunges at the motorcyclist while a woman stands nearby with the car’s boot open. During the struggle, the older man appears to nearly trip and fall.
The motorcyclist manages to push the attacker back towards the road, all while recording the incident on his phone. Despite being kicked away, the older man repeatedly lunges at the motorcyclist, with the final thrust seemingly making contact.
According to the SPF, both men sustained minor injuries but declined transportation to a hospital. The authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to this violent encounter.
