15-8-2023 (SINGAPORE) A pair of young men, aged 19 and 20, have been apprehended by authorities following their suspected engagement in a physical altercation that left the victim reportedly slashed on his forehead.
Singaporean law enforcement revealed on Monday, August 14, that they received a distress call regarding the incident which occurred at Read Crescent Park in Clarke Quay at approximately 6:15 AM on Sunday.
Initial investigations indicate that the victim found himself embroiled in a confrontation with three unidentified male individuals. Amidst the dispute, a physical brawl erupted, involving the alleged deployment of a knife by one of the assailants in an attack on the victim. The police elucidated on the matter in an official press release.
Following the altercation, the three assailants absconded from the scene. However, a knife believed to have been used in the assault was subsequently discovered and confiscated as a piece of evidence.
The victim sustained a significant laceration to his forehead and was promptly transported to the hospital while still conscious.
Utilizing ground-level inquiries and leveraging surveillance footage from police cameras, law enforcement officers successfully identified and subsequently apprehended two of the alleged assailants on Sunday.
The hunt continues for the third suspect, depicted in the image provided below. The two individuals who have been taken into custody are expected to face charges of affray, a legal term encompassing violent and tumultuous behavior. If found guilty, the accused may be subject to a sentence of up to one year of imprisonment, a fine of up to S$5,000, or a combination of both penalties.
