24-7-2023 (STOCKHOLM) Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino and Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, have revealed a new logo for the social media platform. The new logo features a white “X” on a black background, replacing the previous blue bird symbol.
Yaccarino tweeted the announcement on Monday, saying “X is here! Let’s do this.” She also shared a photo of the new logo projected on Twitter’s offices in San Francisco. Both Yaccarino and Musk have updated their Twitter handles to feature the new X logo.
Musk had previously announced his intention to change Twitter’s logo in a post on Sunday, and asked his millions of followers whether they would prefer a change to the site’s colour scheme from blue to black. He also shared a stylised X against a black, outer space-themed background, referring to it as an “interim X logo.”
Yaccarino took over as Twitter CEO on June 5th, replacing Jack Dorsey, as the social media platform tries to reverse a decline in advertising revenue. The new logo is seen as part of a wider effort to refresh the platform’s image and attract new users.
