11-10-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has openly declared his unwavering support for the Hamas freedom fighters and their actions against Israel, as reported by Sinar Daily. Speaking at a talk held at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya, Dr Mahathir expressed his solidarity with Hamas, citing the prolonged suffering of Palestinians as the underlying reason for their operations. The audience responded with applause as Dr Mahathir declared, “I support Hamas 100 per cent.”
Dr Mahathir emphasized that the Israeli regime would not remain passive in the face of Hamas attacks and would retaliate with their own strikes. He highlighted the significance of the current situation, stating that for the first time in 70 years, Israelis were experiencing pressure from Palestinian operations. The former prime minister has been a vocal critic of Israel’s treatment of Palestine, having previously condemned Israel at the 73rd United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel has seen a rising death toll, with casualties reported on both sides. The Palestinian Health Ministry has stated that nearly 1,000 individuals have lost their lives, while around 5,000 others have been injured. The conflict shows no signs of abating, and tensions continue to escalate.
