23-5-2024 (BANGKOK) A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday night when a foreign man fell to his death from the fifth floor of a shopping mall in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area.
Thong Lor police station received the report at approximately 10:30 PM. Promptly, police officers, forensic experts, and rescue workers rushed to the scene, where they discovered the body on Sukhumvit Soi 35, near the Phrom Phong BTS station.
The deceased, identified as a 36-year-old Indian national, was found wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. He lay lifeless in a pool of blood, having sustained severe head injuries and broken legs on a walkway adjacent to the EmQuartier luxury shopping mall.
Matichon Online reported the nationality and age of the victim, though the police have yet to confirm his identity officially. Authorities plan to reach out to his relatives to assist in understanding the circumstances surrounding his death.
As heavy rain poured down, mall staff quickly erected a white tent to cover the body. Witnesses indicated that the man had fallen from the fifth floor of the shopping centre.
Investigators are currently reviewing security footage from the mall to determine whether the fall was accidental or if the man had jumped intentionally. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to uncover the details of this tragic event.
