The victims, comprising two men and two women, all in their 60s, met their untimely demise on the mountain trail located in the city of Nasushiobara, as reported by Tokyo Broadcasting System, citing police sources.
The distressing discovery was the result of a search and rescue operation launched in response to an emergency call received on Friday afternoon, alerting authorities to a mountain climbing incident. At present, law enforcement officials are diligently working to establish the identities of the deceased individuals.
