16-6-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) A 20-year-old local woman working at Genting Highlands fell victim to a horrifying incident when she was forcibly dragged into a hotel room and sexually assaulted by a foreign tourist. In a commendable display of efficiency, the police managed to apprehend the perpetrator within a mere four hours.
Han, the Bentong District Police Chief, released a statement confirming that the woman had lodged a report with the police on Monday (12th), recounting the incident that occurred around 5:20 a.m. She stated that she was walking to a hotel room rented by her friend when an unknown man approached her, inquiring about the hotel’s facilities. He then insisted that she sleep with him, to which she immediately refused. However, the man forcefully grabbed her hand and pulled her into his room, where he sexually assaulted her.
The suspect, a 41-year-old foreign tourist visiting Malaysia, was swiftly arrested by the police near the hotel at 1 p.m. on the same day. Authorities have obtained a remand order, allowing them to detain the suspect until the 19th.
The investigation into this case is being conducted under Section 376 (rape) of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the suspect could face imprisonment for a minimum of 8 years and a maximum of 30 years, in addition to receiving a maximum of 10 strokes of the cane.
Disturbingly, at the time of his arrest, the suspect brazenly declared, “I can rape and murder anyone without consequences!” He claimed to have a notorious reputation in Macau, China, stating that he had engaged in such heinous acts without remorse.
