27-1-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) In the wake of a devastating landslide at Kampung Raja, Blue Valley, another victim’s body was discovered at 12:15 am on Saturday (Jan 27), bringing the total count of recovered bodies to three.
DSP Azri Ramli, the Cameron Highlands district police chief, confirmed that the body, belonging to a man, was located by the Fire and Rescue Department’s tracker dog near sector C, where the first body was found on Friday (Jan 26).
“The body is currently being removed from the landslide area, and forensic officers from D10 Bukit Aman have arrived to facilitate the identification process,” he informed reporters during a press conference at the Fire and Rescue Department’s Control Post at the landslide site.
Regarding the two bodies recovered on Friday, Azri identified them as Law Ha Phey, 36, and Ki Shing Om, 48. The bodies have been transferred to Sultanah Hajah Kalsom Hospital in the Cameron Highlands for further procedures.
These individuals were part of a group of five Myanmar nationals, including a woman, who were tragically buried alive when their homes were engulfed in the landslide around 2:40 am on Friday. The remaining victims have been identified as Shing Law Har, 56, Om Myu, 37, and a woman named Thang Moung, 25.
