16-8-2023 (BANGKOK) Thailand’s Exports Show Weakness, but Overall Economic Recovery Remains Intact, According to Bank of Thailand Governor
The Bank of Thailand’s (BoT) governor, Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput, stated on Wednesday that while Thailand’s exports may be weaker than initially anticipated, the country’s overall economic recovery remains intact.
Speaking at a central bank seminar, Mr. Sethaput highlighted that the economy as a whole is making progress, primarily driven by consumption and tourism.
Additionally, the BoT chief mentioned that the current policy rate is nearing a balanced level, suggesting that the central bank considers it appropriate for the current economic conditions.
