26-7-2023 (BANGKOK) In an effort to bolster tourism and stimulate the economy, Thailand has announced a special government holiday on July 31, providing the public with 6 consecutive days of vacation.
The extended holiday period encompasses several significant dates, including the king’s birthday on July 28, the weekend of July 29 and 30, Asana Bucha Day on August 1, and the beginning of Buddhist Lent on August 2.
By strategically aligning these dates, the government aims to encourage people to travel within the country, thereby contributing to the revival of the tourism sector and stimulating economic growth through increased consumer spending.
Notably, Thailand’s tourism revenue has already surpassed an impressive milestone of 1 trillion baht ($29.1 million) so far this year, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism.
