29-2-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) In a tragic incident that unfolded last night (Feb 28) at a condominium in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, a Thai national met a horrifying fate as she was allegedly pushed off the 23rd floor. Witnesses reported that an argument took place between the victim and her boyfriend before the tragedy occurred.
According to the statement by Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, the district police chief of Shah Alam, authorities received a report of the incident at 10.02pm and quickly responded to the scene. Investigations revealed that the victim was a 32-year-old unemployed Thai national, while the suspect was her 37-year-old boyfriend, who worked as a lorry driver.
Eyewitnesses claimed that they heard the couple engaged in a verbal argument before the situation escalated. Shockingly, the victim was then seen being pushed off the 23rd floor by the suspect, plummeting into a swimming pool located on the 7th floor.
Shortly after the incident, the suspect was apprehended at 10.10pm on the same day. The police conducted a drug test, which returned positive for cannabis. Further investigations uncovered that the suspect had a lengthy criminal record consisting of seven criminal cases and one drug-related offense.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries severe penalties, including the death sentence or imprisonment ranging from 30 to 40 years, along with a minimum of 12 cane strokes upon conviction.
