22-12-2023 (BANGKOK) The Technological Crime Investigation Division (TCID) led a team to search a house in Ban Krang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province, based on a search warrant issued by the Provincial Court of Phitsanulok on 21st December 2566.
During the operation, Mr. Rattanaset (surname withheld), a 33-year-old male, who claimed to be the owner of the house, was apprehended and identified as the leader of the search team. The search resulted in the discovery of more than 87 firearms, including handguns and rifles, along with 4,576 rounds of ammunition and 7 magazines. The seized items were subsequently taken in for further examination.
According to the latest information obtained during the investigation, Mr. Rattanaset stated that the confiscated firearms and ammunition belonged to his parents and friends. However, some of the items had not been properly registered under his name as required by law. Nevertheless, due to Mr. Rattanaset’s possession of the firearms and his posting about them on Facebook, which included a total of 11 items, an inspection revealed that he had modified the firearms, such as changing the gun barrels and replacing firing pins. These actions might affect the ballistic examination and alter the characteristics of the ammunition, which differ from the data recorded by the Department of Provincial Administration.
Therefore, the police officers recorded the seizure of the firearms and ammunition as 11 items and handed them over to the investigators at Mueang Phitsanulok Police Station for further proceedings.
