29-2-2024 (BANGKOK) The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has arrested four individuals linked to the Fullplay 39 online gambling network, seizing assets worth 329 million baht. The arrests were made during raids on 12 locations in Bangkok, according to Pol Lt Gen Worawat Watnakhornbancha, the CCIB commissioner.
Out of the 16 suspects with arrest warrants, four have been apprehended. One of the arrested individuals was identified as a beneficiary of the gambling operation, while the others include a manager and two individuals responsible for financial aspects. The remaining suspects, still at large, are believed to be individuals who opened mule bank accounts for the network, as per Pol Lt Gen Worawat.
The arrested individuals are facing charges related to collusion in operating online gambling, money laundering, and other offenses. The assets seized during the operation include seven luxury cars valued at 40.4 million baht, such as a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Toyota Alphard. Additionally, the authorities confiscated 22.9 million baht in cash and bank accounts, gold bars and ornaments weighing 400 baht worth 14 million baht, amulets exceeding 75 million baht in value, brand-name bags, clothes, and shoes valued at 50 million baht, as well as houses and condominium rooms worth 127 million baht.
The CCIB chief revealed that the targeted gambling website, Fullplay 39, had over 200,000 customers, generating a monthly turnover of approximately 480 million baht.
