5-10-2023 (BANGKOK) Police have arrested a Chinese man, Huang Faling, aged 28, and his 24-year-old Thai wife, Piyanan, for the alleged possession of over 18,000 sex toys. The couple was apprehended at their residence in Lat Krabang district, Bangkok.
The arrest occurred after a search of their home uncovered the extensive collection of sex toys. Both individuals have confessed to owning the items.
Reportedly, the couple had previously registered their business under the guise of selling massage equipment, using other people’s identities for both business registration and product deliveries.
The investigation into online sales of sex toys led to the couple’s apprehension. Additionally, the two suspects owned properties in Bang Sao Thong district of Samut Prakan and in Chorakay Noi, Bangkok. The Lat Krabang residence served as a storage site for the illicit items.
During questioning, the couple also admitted to having been involved in the business for three years, generating 10 million baht in revenue.
In April this year, the Democrat Party pledged to advocate for the legalization of sex toys, contending that it would offer more benefits beyond just sexual pleasure. Currently, sex toys are illegal in Thailand, but they are still being smuggled into the country due to high demand, according to the party.
