18-4-2024 (BANGKOK) The Thai embassy in Brussels has issued a notice urging Thai travellers to exercise caution regarding pickpocketing incidents, especially in crowded areas such as train stations, when visiting Belgium and Luxembourg.
Travellers are advised to be vigilant, particularly with their passports, and can seek assistance by contacting the embassy hotline at (+32) 470 859 667 if needed.
The notice, issued on Wednesday, follows a recent increase in criminal activities reported in both countries. These include incidents of gang-related violence, the illicit trade of cocaine, and instances of human trafficking.
Additionally, there have been reports of small-scale robberies and assaults targeting tourists, which have garnered attention in recent headlines.
