28-3-2025 (BANGKOK) Thai authorities have mounted an intensive search for a 32-year-old Singaporean national following the grim discovery of his girlfriend’s body in a luxurious Watthana district apartment complex.
The victim, identified only as Phraophilas, aged 30, was discovered concealed beneath bedding in the en-suite bathroom of her 22nd-floor flat at an upmarket Sukhumvit 39 residence. The disturbing find came after concerned friends raised the alarm, having lost contact with her since Monday.
Investigators piecing together the timeline revealed that surveillance footage captured the couple’s final known movements on Sunday evening, when they were seen ascending to their shared accommodation at approximately 21:17. The suspect, Daniel Benjamin Goh Wei-En, was later observed departing the premises on Tuesday afternoon, conspicuously carrying luggage whilst driving away in a black Mercedes – a vehicle later discovered to be registered to a deceased individual.
A close confidante of the deceased revealed to Metropolitan Police that the couple’s relationship had been marred by recurring disputes, occasionally escalating into physical confrontations. Adding another layer to the investigation, officers noted the disappearance of several high-value items from the flat, including designer timepieces and handbags.
The case took a particularly concerning turn when building management, accompanied by police and the victim’s friend, gained entry to the property following a missing person report filed at Thong Lor police station. A post-mortem examination is currently underway to establish the precise cause of death as authorities intensify their efforts to locate the suspect.
