4-2-2025 (BANGKOK) Thai authorities swooped down on an elaborate underground casino in Nakhon Nayok Province, apprehending more than 100 gamblers, predominantly senior citizens, in one of the region’s largest gambling busts this year.
The raid, which took place at 11 pm on Sunday, was executed by the Special Operations Unit of the Department of Provincial Administration, catching punters completely off guard at the sophisticated gambling establishment.
As law enforcement officials breached the heavily secured premises, chaotic scenes unfolded with panic-stricken gamblers attempting to evade capture. Several elderly patrons resorted to hiding under gaming tables, though their efforts proved futile as authorities had sealed all possible escape routes.
The facility, described by officials as a “major gambling operation,” was discovered to be a fully equipped gaming house complete with modern amenities. Investigators found the premises fitted with air conditioning systems and an extensive network of CCTV cameras, indicating a well-organised criminal enterprise.
A significant number of vehicles, including motorcycles and cars, were found parked within the compound, suggesting the establishment had been attracting substantial crowds. The variety of gambling activities available at the venue pointed to a comprehensive betting operation catering to diverse gaming preferences.
The raid, documented and later shared on the Thai Police’s official Facebook page, showcased law enforcement officers storming through the fortified entrance of the illegal establishment. The social media post, accompanied by video footage, highlighted the scale of the operation and the subsequent arrests.
