15-10-2023 (BEIJING) A group of six teenagers in Xi’an, China made headlines after consuming a staggering 111 bottles of sour plum beverage at an all-you-can-eat hotpot buffet. A viral video circulating on Chinese social media platform Weibo showcased their table filled with an astonishing number of glass bottles, creating quite a spectacle. However, their dining area was left in disarray, with spilled soup and sauce scattered about.
The incident took place on October 10, when the teenagers visited the hotpot restaurant. The buffet, priced at 26 yuan (approximately S$4.88) per person, included complimentary drinks. The staff at the restaurant were taken aback by the teenagers’ drinking capacity, as they had frequented the establishment before but had never consumed such a large quantity of beverages.
“I felt that they could drink very well when I saw them for the first time,” remarked one of the staff members. The excessive consumption of sour plum drinks sparked concern among viewers, with the top comment on the video emphasizing the importance of prioritizing health over indulgence.
