13-11-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Residents of Taman OUG have described their reclusive neighbour, now suspected of killing his elderly mother and preserving her body in a freezer for three years, as a mysterious figure who rarely interacted with the community.
The suspect, a man in his 50s, was known for his solitary lifestyle, with neighbours reporting only three sightings of him in the past fortnight. Local residents, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicated that his rare outings appeared to be solely for obtaining provisions before returning to his darkened house.
“He never socialised with anyone here,” revealed a long-term resident of five decades, while another neighbour noted the peculiar absence of the suspect’s mother, believed to be in her 80s, in recent years.
The case came to light on Tuesday when the suspect himself contacted authorities. Police officers arriving at the scene found him standing beside the freezer containing the deceased. Sources close to the investigation indicated that some neighbours suspected the man may have suffered a stroke, though this remains unconfirmed.
The property, typically shrouded in darkness with lights seldom illuminated, had become a source of local speculation.
