24-8-2023 (TAIPEI) Brunei-born singer Wu Chun, a former member of the Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit, found himself sporting a bloodied nose after a spirited basketball game with his children. Wu Chun, who has also ventured into business, took to Weibo on Wednesday (Aug 23) to share snapshots of his bruised face, recounting how the injury occurred during the game.
The 43-year-old artist wrote, “Are the scars on my face worthwhile? For more than a decade, I didn’t play basketball precisely because I am very competitive, and for fear of getting injured. I found it easier to not play at all.”
He further explained that his two kids, Nei Nei and Max, have recently developed a passion for basketball. Despite his lengthy hiatus from the sport, Wu Chun decided to engage in 3v3 basketball matches with his children.
“We had great chemistry on the court, but I didn’t expect myself to become more ‘manly’ now. My scars exist for you two (his children). If they see my scars and remember how much their father encourages them to be healthy and participate in sports, then it is all worthwhile,” he expressed.
Wu Chun tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart from Brunei in 2004, and together, they have two children, 12-year-old Nei Nei and nine-year-old Max.
Concerned netizens offered advice on treating his wound, with one user suggesting, “Sterilise, use gauze to stop the bleeding, and then get it stitched up at a hospital, and get a Tetanus jab. Nowadays, they use aesthetic stitches so barely any marks will be left… Hurry up, go to a hospital.”
Another chimed in, “Don’t use soy sauce, or your wound may leave a scar.”
Playfully, one netizen teased Wu Chun, saying, “You didn’t panic and immediately posted a Weibo (with your photos), did you?”
Wu Chun was a member of the Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit, which was active from 2005 to 2012. The group also included Aaron Yan, Jiro Wang, and Calvin Chen.
