The event, which has sent shockwaves through the expatriate community, is currently under investigation by Cambodian authorities.
According to reports from local news outlet Cambodia-China Times, the distressing scene was discovered at approximately 11:40 pm in a residential building situated in the Boeung Keng Kang district of the Cambodian capital. The victim, a 32-year-old Taiwanese national, was a resident of the apartment block, occupying a unit on the 10th floor.
Security personnel on duty that evening recounted a chilling sequence of events. Their attention was initially drawn by a loud, unsettling noise emanating from the vicinity of the building. Upon rushing to investigate, they were confronted with a shocking sight: the lifeless body of a naked man lying in a pool of blood on the ground.
Cambodian law enforcement swiftly responded to the emergency call. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the individual had tragically lost his life at the scene. The authorities have since moved the deceased to Song Renzhi Temple, where his remains will be held pending the arrival of his family from Taiwan.
As the investigation progresses, preliminary findings have begun to emerge. A thorough examination of the apartment’s surveillance footage, coupled with an extensive search of the victim’s living quarters, has led investigators to suspect drug involvement in the incident. Police reportedly discovered a bag containing a suspicious white powder, presumed to be an illicit substance, along with banknotes bearing traces of a similar powder in the man’s room.
